This course provides an understanding of the unique dynamics of reservation economics that affect the lives of Native Americans. Topics include: the economic impact of treaties and their changing interpretations by government and the courts;  the effect of Federal department, agency and programs, such as Agriculture, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, Economic Empowerment Zones, etc. on reservation economies, job opportunities, and citizen's attitudes,   Also the role of education, Tribal governments,  relevant state government impacts and other reservation-specific issues in this process will be discussed.
