Students will understand arithmetic computations involving real numbers, algebraic expressions, and equations. Students will simplify using grouping symbols, properties of arithmetic, and the correct order of operations. They will analyze and solve real world problems using arithmetic. Students will apply mathematical reasoning to everyday situations, and clearly communicate their results. Students will demonstrate an awareness of the mathematics within their own culture and in other disciplines.
